As our Nashville web design company continues to grow, hiring more people is inevitable. This frees up more of my time as the owner to invest back into the business (or be able to take a much-needed few days off on occasion). Sales, marketing, finance, and of course building and maintaining websites are time-consuming and multiple full-time jobs.

At some point, it’s fairly easy to conclude that another developer, a graphic designer, or more project managers are needed. There are so many tasks and so many projects that a bit of backdoor or napkin math can indicate the need to hire. It doesn’t mean it’s easy or totally obvious to hire one of these technical roles but it doesn’t usually come as a total surprise that hiring is needed. But it’s important to be prepared and have the systems in place so that making a hire doesn’t consume all of the manager’s time and energy.

Outside of the obvious technical roles in a Nashville web design company, there are still a lot of other hats to wear. Knowing when and how to hire these roles was a little different. Truthfully, if you take it back to the XDS system we learned from the 2X program, it’s not that different but it requires using the system regularly and identifying which roles are needed and if they are technical, managerial, or actually executive. The difference is that as I’ve moved further from the technician who is delivering websites there is more to learn. There are more hats to master or create systems for that I haven’t always done.
